Tips on Organizing Your Poster
- The key to an effective poster display are preplanning, preparation and the flow of information. Decide the overall logic of the poster. Most posters have sequential sections.
- Posters should stimulate discussion, not give long presentations. Keep text to a minimum. Space your information proportionally.
- Graphics may be included and are the essential ingredient of an effective poster. Use photos, graphs, tables, charts and images to reflect pertinent points.
- Tables are preferable to graphics for small data sets.
- Words and illustrations should go together avoiding clumsy diverting segregation.
- To attract interest, include a clear title and at least one graphic that encapsulate the work.
- Rehearse a five-minute chat during which you will explain the key concepts of the research and give examples of facts/statistics to reinforce them.
- When choosing a background color, remember that neutral or gray colors will be easier on the eyes than a bright color.
- Remember, good content and designs are the most important elements of your poster.
Shipping Your Poster
- We recommend that you make arrangements to ship your poster to your hotel addressed to your attention.
